Manual Osteopaths (OMPs) have completed extensive additional schooling, clinical placements and examinations to become certified. For this reason, most extended health benefits programs offer coverage. Contact your provider to see what is covered in your extended insurance plan.

Hello, I’m Rebecca; I am a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO) and a licensed Manual Osteopath with the National Manual Osteopathic Society (NMOS). I have been working with Walk It Off as a Neuro-Recovery Trainer since 2014 and I love coming in to work every day to help individuals on their path to recovery and wellness.

Before Walk It Off, I graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor in Human Kinetics and a minor in Psychology. During my undergraduate studies, I completed a clinical placement with the City of Ottawa Post-Stroke and Acquired Brain Injury program; this experience lead me to pursue a career in neurological rehabilitation.

Since joining the Walk It Off team in 2014, I have completed a certificate in Disability Management through Dalhousie University and become a certified Barefoot Training Specialist. I have also completed certification courses in Adaptive Training, K-Taping, Post-Stroke Fitness Specialist, and had the opportunity to work alongside and shadow at Project Walk Orlando. I enjoy the ever-evolving nature of neurological rehabilitation and love to continue learning to help keep Walk It Off current on the latest and greatest!

In 2022 I graduated from the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy to attain my Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (D.OMP). During this program, I completed extensive schooling in manual osteopathic treatment, clinical placement and examinations, and a thesis on An Osteopathic Approach to Regulation of Orthostatic Hypotension in Chronic Spinal Cord Injury. I’m thrilled to combine my passion for adaptive exercise and movement with the holistic, hands-on treatment of osteopathy.

I have always loved being active. I grew up playing and coaching competitive soccer and basketball in the Newmarket area. Now my favourite thing is exploring new hiking trails with my dog and my partner. You can usually catch me enjoying a good cup of coffee or running off to curling.

Hello everyone! My name is Nikki and I’ve been working for Walk It Off Spinal Cord Recovery and Wellness Center since 2018 as a neuro-recovery rehab specialist, and I absolutely adore it! I am a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO), and a registered Manual Osteopathic Practitioner with the National Manual Osteopathic Society (NMOS).

Before Walk It Off, in 2015 I graduated from the University of Ontario with a Bachelor of Health Science, streamlined on Exercise Science. Here I got to take on research projects focusing on fall prevention in the elderly, and internships with the Varsity Athletic Therapy Center. It was during this internship that I got to apply my theoretical and practical knowledge to real-life events. I fell in love with rehabilitation and have never looked back.

Fast forward to 2022 when I graduated with a diploma in osteopathic manual practice to broaden my skills and understanding of the human body. I use a combination of visceral and neural manipulation, with cranial sacral therapy to treat an array of dysfunctions of the human body. On weekends I share my knowledge with the students at the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy as a teaching assistant for years 1-3.

I love movement. I believe movement is medicine…and I also love my bike! During the summer of 2023, I biked across Canada with Kevin Mills. We created the not-for-profit Pedaling Possibilities to raise awareness around accessibility and raise funds to help others afford adapted sports equipment. www.pedalingpossibilities.ca

I am confident I can bring energy, and a pain-free life back to you. I’m a keen listener with an empathetic intuition, that will get to the root cause of your complaints. Book your assessment today! I cannot wait to meet you.
